A single HTML file that fills bracketed templates for you: paste any document containing [PLACEHOLDERS], get one labelled input per field, auto-fill your saved business details, and produce the completed text - for copy, download or print.
It is the companion tool to the Freelance Contract & Invoice Kit: load the kit's fields.json and every one of the 103 placeholders gets its real label and an example hint.
You receive 2 files:
- kit-filler.html - the whole app (opens in any modern browser, works fully offline)
- README.md - quick start and honest notes
What it does:
- Placeholder detection: every [UPPER_SNAKE] token becomes a field, in document order
- fields.json support: real labels + example hints per field (from the Kit)
- Profile auto-fill: save your name, address, email and tax line once; CONTRACTOR_* placeholders fill everywhere with one click
- Live output: filled values underlined green, unfilled placeholders stay visible in purple so nothing ships half-filled, with a progress counter
- Output: copy to clipboard (warns if anything is unfilled), download as Markdown, print / save as PDF (document only)
- Works on ANY bracketed template text, not just the kit
- Dark + light themes; everything stays in this browser's localStorage
Honest notes: data lives in this browser profile only - clearing site data erases it; the tool fills text, it does not check the legal effect of what you write (the Kit's documents carry their own not-legal-advice notes); clipboard copy needs a secure context (works when opening the file locally in current browsers).
The preview images are renders of this exact file - the dark editor filling the kit's invoice fields, and the light theme, not mockups.
Licence: use it in your own business, modify freely; do not resell or redistribute the file itself as a competing download. Free minor updates.
